Meet the Instructors

Cindy Still - Founder of Woofermutt. Cindy began her career with dogs as an adult in 1990. Cindy is owned by a whole pack of Bernese Mountain Dogs. Her very first Berner, Rocky, was the catalyist for her interest in Dog Training. Rocky was the highest scoring Bernese Mtn Dog in the US in Open Obedience in 1992. She has trained and showed her own dogs to various AKC titles including Novice Obedience, Open Obedience, Rally Obedience (Novice, Advanced & Excellent) as well as several AKC conformation Champions.

Cindy was a volunteer instructor for 18 years with the Pikes Peak Obedience Club in Colorado Springs until they closed their training center in 2008. She held many positions with the club, including president and taught many classes including beginning obedience, backyard agility and conformation. She belongs to the local and national Bernese Mountain Dog Clubs where she has held a variety of positions.

Cindy is a current licensed AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She has a CTDI (Certified Trick Dog Instructor) and recently completed the necessary qualifications to be a Stunt Dog Judge. She is a strong dog advocate and feels a trained dog helps for a lifetime relationship between owner and dog.

Michelle Still - Michelle got involved with dogs at the young age of 8 yrs. She grew up with Bernese Mountain Dogs. Growing up Michelle was an active AKC Junior Competitior. She won the BMDCA top award in the country for best Junior Handler in 1995 and 1996. As a young junior competitor she apprenticed with the Brownings, professional handlers in the AKC arena.

Her first "real" job was working for a local kennel as a groomer/bather. She later went on to work at the local Greyhound track as a "groomsmen" who helped the dogs at the start and finish line. Some of her college summers were spent working at local kennels.

Many times at local AKC conformation shows she would help handle dogs as an amateur.

Michelle was an assistant instructor for the Pikes Peak Obedience Club assisting with Beginners and Backyard agility classes.

Michelle is a member of the local and national Bernese Mountain Dog Clubs. She participates as much as her work schedule allows in various local dog events.

Kasie McGee - I got my very first Border Collie as a puppy in 1969. My grandfather had brought back a bitch in whelp from Wales, and gave me one of those puppies. I was expected not only to train the dog to work on our farm; I was expected to figure out HOW to train the dog. So began my journey with training animals, which has carried me through training and showing my Quarter Horses, FFA and 4H livestock, dairy cattle and goats, and more dogs. I have a Masters in Animal Science (behavior) from CSU, where Dr. Temple Grandin was my advisor.

I breed Border Collies, and have done for over 25 years. My goals for them are good working dogs with biddable temperaments, with the ability to turn on or off as needed. Correct structure is required and always part of the selection criteria.

I am also active in training search dogs for EL Paso County Sheriff’s department. I have been a search and rescue member both in California and here in Colorado. I travel all over the country to teach people how to train trailing dogs, and also to test dogs.

My “day job” is as a SPED teacher in a charter school for Gifted students. Prior to that, I have taught math, English, biology and civics. I have taught literacy classes for struggling readers and pre-school (Blind/Visually Impaired students).
